A Proven Leader for Rochester
Educator • Public Servant • Defender of New Hampshire Values
My name is Robert Qua, and I am running to represent the people of Rochester's Sixth Ward in the New Hampshire Statehouse. For more than fifteen years, I have served as a special educator in our public schools, and for the last seven years, I have been an educational leader dedicated to empowering our students and strengthening our communities.
Growing up as a Navy brat, I moved every few years as my father served our nation with honor and dedication. His service instilled in me a profound sense of duty that drives me today. My wife and I chose New Hampshire over a decade ago, leaving behind the cosmopolitan trappings of Washington D.C. for something far more valuable — the Live Free or Die spirit that makes our state exceptional.
New Hampshire is not just where I live; it's the only true home I've ever known. Now, I feel compelled to step forward and serve my neighbors, to preserve and expand the New Hampshire advantage that makes our state a beacon of freedom and opportunity. Together, let's build a stronger community that honors our values and secures prosperity for generations to come.
Standing Strong on the Issues
Principled Solutions for New Hampshire
The New Hampshire Advantage
The people of New Hampshire benefit greatly and in countless ways by embracing limited government and low taxes. Our way of life is the foundation of independence and prosperity. Preserving and expanding that advantage is the best thing I can do for us in Concord.
Defend the Guard
I believe that our brave young men and women are the most precious resource we have. They should not be thrown wantonly into meaningless conflicts of choice around the globe on the whim of Washington bureaucrats. Defend the Guard legislation will keep our brave soldiers here, where they are needed, unless the federal government does what is constitutionally required to activate them.
The Second Amendment
Property rights are inviolable, and firearms are no exception. No one should ever have the power to decide what you do with your property. Every tool can be dangerous, but bans only apply to the law-abiding, and we have seen the tragic results of creating soft targets for bad actors again and again. It is time to embrace what the founders always knew: that attempting to give up liberties for safety will always leave you with neither.
Right to Work
As a special education teacher, I found the impact of unions largely to be negative in practice. I was forced to accept the same contract as the least invested colleague I had, full of benefits and clauses I wanted nothing to do with. As a school administrator, I lament my inability to reward those who go above and beyond because all the contracts need to be the same. It costs me good people every year. The economics are clear on the impact of unions. They harm the poorest, the most proficient, and anyone trying to enter an industry from the outside. There should be no state privileges for unions and no barriers thrown up in front of those who want to earn an honest living.
